Can I Apply ™ Trademark to My Products in Canada?
The TM mark has no legal significance or meaning in Canada. Thus there are no repercussions to using this mark. The ™ mark does not appear in Canadian Trademark Law.
Unofficial meaning of this mark has come to mean unregistered trademarks or in-process trademarks.
Canada’s Trade-marks Act does not include any marking requirements. However, the following symbols are commonly used by trade-mark owners to indicate registration:
- ® (registered)
- ™ (trade-mark)
- SM (service mark)
- MC (marque de commerce)
