How to Trademark My Company in Canada and the United States?
Separate applications are needed for each jurisdiction in which you would like to have exclusive rights to that trademark. For a Canadian trademark, you must have a mailing address in Canada to which the CIPO can send correspondence. Registering a Trademark in Canada does not provide any protection in United States because a Canadian Trademark is Valid only in Canada.
